Nguyen Sieu School offers students the option of either the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) or the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) curriculum pathways.


MOET Pathway

In 2015, Nguyen Sieu School became the first private school in Hanoi to gain recognition as a "High Quality" school by MOET for its exceptional standard of teaching, programmes, support services, and facilities.

Students in the MOET Pathway are organized as follows:

  1. Primary (Grade 1-5)
  2. Secondary (Grade 6-9)
  3. High School (Grade 10-12)

MOET subjects: Vietnamese, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, Geography, National Defence, Home Economics, Physical Education.

All students study Cambridge Academic English (CAE) as a compulsory subject.

From MOET to University

After completing Grade 11, students can either:

  1. Progress to Grade 12. At the end of the school year (1 July), they will sit for an entrance examination for universities in Vietnam. Local universities courses will commence in September of the same year.
  2. Start on a Foundation programme. Students will study for 8 months in Vietnam, and another 4 months in New Zealand, before commencing the undergraduate programmes in New Zealand in July. Students who choose a Foundation programme will start university ahead of students who choose to continue to Grade 12.
