On the morning of September 5th, Nguyen Sieu School held the Opening Ceremony of the 2020-2021 school year, which occurred in 3 different locations to ensure safety during the Covid-19 period. The pounding of drums promises the success of the activities celebrating the 30th anniversary, along with the school’s aspiration to accomplish the future plans for a "Green School, Green Dreams", a happy school.
For the first time in Nguyen Sieu School history, the Opening Ceremony was held in 3 different locations: Nguyen Sieu main stage, Phuong Dinh hall and Thap But hall. The separation had a strange yet familiar feeling, ensuring a safe distance during the pandemic season.
At the Opening Ceremony of Nguyen Sieu School, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Phung Quoc Hien, presented the school with beautiful flowers. He encouraged all to overcome the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic, to continue teaching and learning, and to look forward to an even more successful school year. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly visited the facilities, the functional rooms of the school and praised Nguyen Sieu's students for being confident, creative and active in learning and training, especially during the 4.0 era.
On behalf of all students, teachers and staff of the school, Mr. Nguyen Trong Vinh - the School Chairman beat the drum, announcing the commencement of the new school year. The Board of Directors and the School Board of Management awarded Nguyen Sieu Scholarships to students with outstanding achievements in studying and ethical training.
During the Opening Ceremony, foreign teachers turned the "Green school, Green Dreams" project into a mini-lesson with many innovative ideas about building an eco-friendly school that wastes no plastic. In addition, foreign teachers offered many other projects to provide students and teachers better opportunities to access the future of international integration.
A charitable activity carried out during the opening ceremony was the "Love Tree" where donations of toys, books, and school supplies were gifted to support preschoolers and students in the highland commune of Di Xu Phinh, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai Province. Nguyen Sieu school has just sponsored 80 tons of cement to make new roads connecting the commune center to the poor households, the road is expected to be completed by mid-September 2020.
